Net new business

What is Net new business?

Net new business refers to revenue generated from customers who did not previously exist, as distinct from renewals, upselling or expansion with existing customers. The metric shows how well a company opens up new markets and target groups, and sales teams often plan and reward it separately. Example: a software vendor reports 40% of its quarterly order intake as net new business.

AI SDR

An AI SDR (sales development representative) is an AI agent that takes on tasks from the early sales stage: answering inbound enquiries, qualifying prospects, drafting call scripts and follow-up emails, or preparing meetings. It relieves the sales team but does not replace their judgement and relationship work. When approaching new contacts in Germany and the EU, data protection and rules against unsolicited advertising must be observed.

Lead Routing

Lead routing is the automatic assignment of incoming enquiries to the responsible person, department or region. Criteria may include topic, product, company size, language or urgency. AI can understand and categorise the free text of an enquiry, for instance whether it concerns a new quote, a support issue or a job application. Fast, accurate routing shortens response times and prevents enquiries from being left unanswered.

Go-to-market (GTM)

A go-to-market (GTM) strategy sets out how a product or service will be launched successfully in a market: which target group has which problem, how the offer is positioned and priced, which channels it is sold through and which metrics measure success. A GTM plan links marketing, sales and product. Example: a software provider starts with one industry, one partner channel and a 90-day goal.

Lead Scraper

A lead scraper is a tool that automatically collects contact details of potential customers from websites, directories or social networks. In Germany and the EU this is legally sensitive: names and email addresses of contact persons are personal data, so processing them requires a legal basis and informing the data subjects under the GDPR, and under German unfair competition law (UWG, Section 7) advertising emails generally require prior express consent, including to businesses. Inbound enquiries via your website, content and referrals are the better route (not legal advice).
