Frase

What is Frase?

Frase is software for researching and optimising web content. It analyses which topics, questions and terms well-ranking pages cover for a search query, turns this into content briefs and scores texts while they are being revised. Frase now also offers features for tracking and improving whether content is cited in answers from AI search systems such as ChatGPT or Perplexity (as of October 2026).

Generative engine optimisation (GEO)

Generative engine optimisation (GEO) covers measures that help content become visible in, and be cited as a source by, AI-powered search systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity or the AI overviews in search engines. The term comes from a 2023 research paper. Key factors include clear, directly quotable answers, a clean structure, evidenced facts, up-to-date information and identifiable authors. GEO complements classic search engine optimisation (SEO) rather than replacing it.

SEO score

An SEO score is a metric that analysis tools use to rate how well a web page is optimised for search engines – usually on a scale from 0 to 100. Factors may include titles and descriptions, heading structure, loading speed, mobile-friendliness, internal links and structured data. Every tool calculates the score differently; it is not an official Google rating. The score is therefore useful as a checklist for improvements, not as a guarantee of good rankings.

AI-Assisted Content Creation

AI-assisted content creation means producing text, images or other content with the help of generative AI, for example for websites, newsletters, product descriptions or social media. AI quickly delivers drafts, variants and translations, while subject expertise, brand voice and fact-checking remain human tasks. Clear guidance on audience, tone and sources helps. Example: bullet points about a new offering become a draft blog post and three social media posts.
