Amazon KDP

What is Amazon KDP?

Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is Amazon's platform for authors to self-publish e-books, paperbacks and hardcovers. Titles, descriptions, keywords and categories must follow its own rules. Anyone who generates content with AI – text, cover images or translations – must disclose this to Amazon when publishing; purely AI-assisted work such as brainstorming or proofreading is exempt (as of October 2026). Current guidelines should be checked before each publication.

How KI.ordo helps

The KI.ordo template “Prepare a book for Amazon KDP” drafts title suggestions, a book description, keywords and categories from a book idea, all of which should be checked before uploading.

AI-Assisted Content Creation

AI-assisted content creation means producing text, images or other content with the help of generative AI, for example for websites, newsletters, product descriptions or social media. AI quickly delivers drafts, variants and translations, while subject expertise, brand voice and fact-checking remain human tasks. Clear guidance on audience, tone and sources helps. Example: bullet points about a new offering become a draft blog post and three social media posts.

Text Generation

Text generation is the automatic production of text by AI, nowadays usually by large language models that calculate the most likely continuation word by word. It is a branch of natural language generation and a core application of generative AI. Organisations use it to draft emails, reports or product descriptions; facts and figures should be checked before publication.

Generative AI

Generative AI refers to AI systems that create new content – text, images, audio, video or program code – rather than merely sorting or assessing existing data. They are based on models that learn patterns from large amounts of data and use them to produce plausible new outputs. In business it is used, for example, to draft emails, summaries, product descriptions or image ideas. Results can contain errors and should be checked before use.
